About Julia, the woman who writes it:

I’m a writer and podcast host living in Brooklyn. For more than a decade, I’ve been reporting on culture, business, gender and the points at which all those things collide. I’ve hosted podcasts for The Wall Street Journal and Apple News. My journalism has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Glamour magazine and more (lots of links on my website if you’re curious). I’ve won awards for my personal service reporting and coverage of the LGBTQIA+ community.

My first nonfiction book, The New Rules of Money, hit shelves in 2023. You can find it at your local bookstore.

In 2024, I quit my full-time job to devote myself more fully to freelance reporting, working on my novel and writing this newsletter. Thank you to all of you who make this work possible!

A Woman to Know is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
